This highly decorated incense holder is reminiscent of Egyptian decorative Cobras which has been beautifully hand painted in the UK.  It is an incense holder to burn incense cones and comes with a soapstone base inside a lockable holder making sure your furniture is protected and the ash stays inside.

This beautiful piece will arrive in it's own presentation box

When lit the incense will drift into the hood and swirl from the openings as the incense creeps into the head of the cobra the smoke will gently pour form the Cobras open mouth.  Depending on the air pressure the smoke will either drift, twirl or pour from these openings making a great atmospheric scene.

When not in use the Cobra will sit serenely and makes an excellent decorative piece in its own right.

The design was inspired by the head-dress from Tutankhamun and the photo's from the hieroglyphics on the pyramid walls.

Snakes, especially the cobra, are often shown as guardians or protectors of sacred sanctuary’s, places of worship and other similar locations.

Ancient Egypt probably has one of the most widely known connections to the cobra. They were used as symbols for many things such as the sun and Lower Egypt often depicted with a vulture, the symbol of Upper Egypt, around the eye of Horus, together they make a powerful symbol of unification and togetherness of the two lands.

The cobra is also a symbol of the goddess Wadjet who was the guardian protector of royal tombs. It was said that anybody who wanted to rob or vandalise a tomb would face the goddess who would spit venom at them.

Cobras have become a strong symbol for rebirth, transformation, immortality and healing, and it is also suggested that when a snake comes into your life you should expect sudden and swift changes throughout your life passing out of the old and into the new finding previously unknown powers of creativity and wisdom.

This wonderful piece is perfect to place in your home as and ornament or incense burner.
